Pool Happy 07/24/2010

My kids have been elated all weekend.  We were very blessed to be able to get a pool that had a slide in it for the kids to be able to play.  The kids are in heaven.

Earlier today I went outside, my wife had been watching the kids play in the pool and it had been quite relaxing for them because we have had this terrible heat wave and it has been very humid.  Anyway, my daughter Abigail was laying in the grass with her little Dora the Explorer Sunglasses on and I asked her what she was doing and she said she was tanning.  LOL

I think the real test is going to be how to keep the pool clean.  So far Adam feels that it is his duty to put pieces of Grass, dirt and any other debri he can find into the water.  He even poured his red Kool-Aid into the pool and then got all excited as the water turned red then finally diffused enough into the water that it disappeared.  To Him it was like magic.

It is little blessings like these that mean the world to me.  To be able to watch the kids have fun, laugh and play.  I take pleasure in my kids and how much joy the have brought into my life.  Every day I learn something new through the eyes of a child.  For example I did not know spiders have names, we have one in the stairwell that my daughter and Adam have named George.  George is still there because I am afraid that if I were to kill George it would devastate them.  Also Abigail told me that the sun and moon were brothers.  Adam told me the sky was crying when it was raining.  Our dog had passed not too long ago and when I told Abigail that the dog was now in heaven, she told me, "No daddy he is sleeping under the tree"  Adam informed me that it is not nice to drink out of the toilet and that our dog needs to be timed out, Our cat Casey is a bad cat because she does not lay down at night when it is bedtime and there is no playing allowed, And so on......There seems to be so much that I still have to learn.

Anyway the storm is coming and the sky is getting darker and Abigail always has to tell me that we are inside and we are safe, the storm is outside.

No matter where you are right now or what you are doing take  time to let you kids know that you love them, appreciate them and a blessing they are to you ~

Be blessed ~  J
