Heat Wave 07/22/2010

When it is hot outside it is hot.  After looking at this weeks forecast (which changes constantly) I knew that I probably mow the yard before the rain hit each day this week causing the grass and the yard to look more like a forest than a yard.  We had a severe Heat Advisory but when I stepped outside it did not feel that warm to me, I mowed the yard went inside took a shower and then when I dried off looked in the mirror and looked like a red baked lobster.

It got me thinking How many times are there warnings from God that we overlook?  In God's Word we find warnings and commands about the things we should do or should not do and I started asking myself how many times do we actually follow God's Word to the letter?  I would like to say that in every instance I do but that is not the case.  For me this journey as a Christian is a progressive one, I learn to die to self more daily and learn to take up my cross.  God's Word is there for us for a reason to guide us, direct us so that we don't get caught out in a "heat wave" because without the Word we may feel that we are doing things correctly but once things are said and done we find out we may have missed the mark altogether.

I am grateful that I am a work in progress and that when God teaches me a lesson I try my best to apply it to my life that is not to say that I have not made mistakes along the way, I have made plenty but we get to the point that when God shows you something in His Word you act upon it and make it a truth in your life.

Tomorrow we are still suppose to be having a heat advisory and I think this time I will just stay inside.

Father I thank you that your wisdom is beyond all that I could ever comprehend and that you know what is best for me before I even ask, do or hope.  Thank you for going before me and preparing my way each day and I give you thanks for the life in which you have given.  Amen
