"If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered."
(John 15:6)

If I were to ask you to make a list of a hundred things you need to do to please the Lord today, you could do it, couldn't you? In fact, you probably have so many spiritual "do's" and "don'ts" cluttering up your mind that you'd hardly know where to start.

But you can relax. I'm not going to suggest you make a list of them. Instead, I'm going to help you simplify things by giving you only one: Abide in Jesus.

The one thing you're truly responsible for is your union with Him. If you keep your union and fellowship with Him intact, everything else will be taken care of.

"But Brother Jim, I'm facing some big problems right now. My life's turned upside down. I'm so rushed I don't know whether I'm coming or going. I don't have time to fellowship with the Lord today."

That's when you need to do it the most! You need to maintain your union with the Lord particularly when the storms of life come. I know that's often not easy to do. Whether the storm is a sickness in your body or financial problems or family strife, the temptation will be to settle your attention and your mind on that problem. You won't even want to think about anything else.

That's what the devil planned on. That's the reason he sent that storm in the first place. To distract you from fellowshiping with God. To draw your attention away from your union with Him.

Don't fall into the devil's trap. Instead, keep your thoughts and affections trained on the Lord. As you do that, the force of faith will begin to flow out of you. And that flow will repel every form of darkness. It will bring you in triumph through every storm.

Fellowship with Jesus today.

As many of you know my sister and I have been at odds.  I think the hardest thing to do at times when dealing with siblings is to stay in the spirit.  Far too often we find ourselves stepping into the flesh and reacting instead of acting in accordance with God's Word.

It has not been easy especially when your own siblings think that you have missed the mark or not good enough but we have to learn to rise above even those situations that we face and focus on what really matters. Family.

Recently,  my sister and I have been fighting and I am ashamed to say it because I had not been acting the bigger person in this situation and yet I am in ministry and try to live for God.  I am finding out that there are times that it is easier said than done. Do I want Christ represented in this way? NO !   It took my younger sister and some family members to make me realize that I have to let the feud between my sister and I go because we are represented by what we write and people may inadvertently get hurt by it.  My sister decided to be the bigger person and invite us to a family reunion and I think that we may just go because we need this time to heal open wounds and lay things at the feet of Christ.  What's past is past and we can make a conscious decision to live from this moment forward and that is what I intend to do.

I think when I go to the reunion I will be grateful for the family that I do have, perfect or not because after all they are indeed family and it appears that I have a long road still to go.

Please don't put me on a higher level,  I am just a man capable of falling and making mistakes but I have learned that apart from Christ I am nothing.  We have to stand guard and stay in the Spirit so we will not find occasion to get off into the flesh.

I am just grateful that my sister was able to look beyond my own faults and still invite me to be part of our family...

Adam and Abigail are excited this morning because we are going to Burger King.  They love Burger King because they get to wear those silly little cardboard hats that look like crowns.  Adam thinks he is a prince and Abigail well she thinks she is already a princess and you know what I guess they are.

It has rained last night and misting this morning.  The news says that it is going to rain all week and going to get hot and muggy.  Everything in the South gets hot and muggy.  LOL

Adam dressed himself and is all ready to go, Abigail wants to wear a cute little sun dress and said to me just a minute ago, Daddy stop playing on puter its time to go bye bye...

But life is good in the house of Wilson and we are about to go out and eat and spend time with the kids.

I love my wife, kids and family.  We have incredible friends, beautiful home, a dog and a cat.  Two cars that run and things couldn't get any better.  Life is good......love is great.

Hope everyone has a great start of their week.

:)
